Advancement of Education
The Brian Conlon Medal, is a prestigious award celebrating outstanding students from our local schools who embody Brian’s determination and unwavering commitment to education.
Education was at the core of Brian’s values and remains a pillar of our Foundation. As an Abbey CBS Newry alum, Brian excelled academically and in sports. He believed education was a lifelong investment, not bound by age. In 1996, he founded First Derivatives (FD) in Newry, believing in the incredible talent our local education system produces.
At FD, education and training were the cornerstones of success. Brian personally designed an intensive in-house training program for every graduate, launching the careers of thousands in international investment banks.
The Brian Conlon Medal will become an annual award, with local schools identifying a deserving student who reflects Brian’s spirit. The Foundation’s trustees present this prestigious award to the recipient at the schools award ceremonies.
